A lovely woman patient in her 40s with Crohn's disease requiring the removal of her colon with a permanent ileostomy (when the intestine exits the skin and drains into a bag). She had multiple children and suffered from rectus diastasis (abdominal muscle separation) and some excess skin and tissue of the lower abdomen.
She had sought many surgeons, but was consistently told she could not undergo a cosmetic abdominoplasty. She was referred to Dr. Charvet, who is also a board certified general surgeon. He developed a treatment plan using his experience with colon resections and ostomies, as well as, his knowledge of plastic and reconstructive surgery to formulate a safe and effective approach to giving this young woman an operation to improve the quality of her life.
The results speak for themselves.
Dr. Charvet hopes to publish his techniques and experiences with body contouring and ostomies.
