Prep
To prepare for your LaseMD Ultra™ treatment, follow these guidelines before your appointment:
- Avoid sunless tanning products and limit sun exposure for one to two weeks prior.
- Skip facials, electrolysis, threading, or other laser treatments for at least one week before your session.
- Discontinue use of topical skin products two days prior to treatment, except for plain moisturizer, gentle cleanser, and sunscreen.
- Stop using all products with retinol for six days prior.
- Let your provider know if you have a history of fever blisters or cold sores.
Treatment
When you arrive, your skin should be clean and free of any lotion or makeup in the treatment area to ensure the best possible results.
Before starting, we’ll apply a topical anesthetic (numbing cream) to help keep you comfortable. During the procedure, a handheld laser device is gently passed over your skin. You may feel a warm, tingling sensation as the laser works beneath the surface to stimulate renewal.
After Your Session
You can return to most of your usual activities right away. We recommend you only apply a plain moisturizer for the first 24 hours and avoid strenuous activity. Your skin may look slightly pink or red and feel warm or tight, but these effects are temporary and typically fade quickly.

What Is LaseMD Ultra™ Recovery Like?
Day One: Right after your LaseMD Ultra™ treatment, your skin will look pink or red and may feel warm and tight—similar to a mild sunburn. This sensation usually fades within a couple of hours.
Day Two: Your skin may still feel tight and start to develop a light, sandy texture as it begins to flake. Keep the area well moisturized to support healing and comfort.
Days Three and Four: Depending on the depth of your treatment, gentle flaking and exfoliation will continue as fresh skin cells emerge. By this point, most of the old, dry skin will have shed, revealing a smoother, more radiant complexion.

To ensure a speedy recovery within the first 24 hours, we recommend:
- Plan a quiet evening (no special events).
